Lath and plaster. Plaster is hard and brittle. Drilled carelessly, it cracks or crumbles. We pre-drill small pilot holes, locate the studs behind the lath and use anchors designed for plaster walls, so the mount stays solid without damaging the wall around it.

Solid brick. Many older Dundas homes have interior brick walls or exposed brick feature walls. We drill into the brick face rather than mortar joints and use sleeve anchors rated for the TV’s weight.

Uneven walls. Older walls aren’t always flat or plumb. We shim the mount where needed and level it with a laser, so the TV hangs straight even if the wall doesn’t.

Outlets and wiring. Older homes often lack an outlet behind where the TV should go. Where in-wall concealment is possible we use an in-wall power kit, and on brick or plaster we use a slim paintable cover that suits the room.

Newer homes. Dundas also has newer subdivisions on the edges of town and along the escarpment. These have standard drywall on studs and are quick, clean installs.
