Condo walls are not like house walls
Steel studs
Most interior condo walls are drywall on light-gauge steel studs. A wood lag bolt won’t hold in steel, so we use heavy-duty toggle anchors rated for steel framing, spread across multiple points so the load is shared.
Poured concrete
Exterior and demising walls are often solid concrete. We hammer-drill and use concrete anchors that hold extremely well. Concrete drilling is noisy for a few minutes, so we keep it brief and within permitted hours.
Ceilings and post-tensioned slabs
Many high-rise floors and ceilings are post-tensioned concrete, with steel cables under tension inside the slab. Drilling into them can be dangerous and is often prohibited. We never drill into a slab without the building’s approval, and we’ll recommend a wall mount instead.

Can you mount a TV on a concrete condo wall?
Yes. We hammer-drill into the concrete and use concrete anchors rated for your TV. It’s one of the strongest walls you can mount on.
Do I need my condo board’s permission?
Some buildings require notice or approval for drilling, especially into concrete. Check your building’s rules. We can work with the property manager and follow their requirements.
Can you hide the wires in a condo?
In steel-stud drywall walls, often yes. On concrete or where the building doesn’t allow opening walls, we use a slim paintable raceway.
Will the installation be loud?
Mounting on steel studs is quiet. Concrete drilling is loud for a few minutes, so we schedule it within your building’s permitted hours.
Do you book the elevator?
You’ll usually book it through your concierge or management. Let us know the window and we’ll arrive on time for it.
